Johanna and I worked hard all day to finish installing all the objects and printing. At 5.15pm I finally got round to calling Liz at RADIO REVERB to do a quick interview over the phone about the event. I described what it was, where and when and she asked me why lazy people from Brighton should bother coming over to Portslade. I explained that Portslade is actually a great place with some interesting people. We talked about Boundary Road and how its full of interesting and quirky independant shops.

At 6pm we opened our doors. Slowly people started to come and most of the business owners turned up to see how it all looked. They all seemed happy and met each other over a beer or two. Gary from Kids Dreams and Gambit Games explained to me how this event really got people together and talking openly, he'd been to many business events run by the council where business owners would have to sit in a circle and do speed networking etc. He just got frustrated at these things and felt stiffled by the suits. Everyone was talking about their businesses and activities and how it affected their leisure time. An art crowd also came along and joined in the conversations meeting the business owners making a sociable night.
